Dr. Derek Wilson

Dr. Wilson joined Old Farm Veterinary Hospital in February of 2008 as new owner. He is very excited to help you with the care of your loved ones

Dr. Wilson is a native of Maryland. He grew up in Rockville, leaving only for college at Cornell University, where he majored in Physics (go figure!) and then Veterinary School at Virginia Tech.

He earned his DVM in 1998, focusing on small animal practice. He has worked several years each in general practice and in emergency and critical care facilities. His broad experience has prepared him to help your pet with both wellness care as well as with serious illness.

When not working hard at Old Farm, Dr. Wilson likes to spend time with his wife, Kija and son, Tristan, born in April 2009. He spends the rest of his time with her smooth collie Hunter, as well as adoring the cats: Midas, Cricket, 'Little Girl', Mars and Molina. He's even got some equine companions: Malae, Tina, Zamba and Catnip (retired). He is a member of Capitol Polo Club, where he occasionally has the opportunity to participate in the "Sport of Kings."





Nick Albano, DVMDr. Nick Albano

Dr. Nicholas Albano joined Old Farm Veterinary Hospital in August 2009 as a part time associate.He is originally from the suburbs of New Jersey, explaining his unwavering support of the NY Giants and NY Yankees.

 Dr. Albano graduated from Loyola College and made Maryland his new home. He earned his DVM in 2002 from the Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in Blackburg, VA. There he met is wife to be, Melanie, a registered veterinary technician. Following his Veterinary Degree, he completed a one year internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery in Red Bank, NJ. He returned to Maryland for good and now splits his hours between Emergency Medicine and General Practice.

Dr. Albano's pride is his daughter, Madelyn, born in 2008.
